THE STORY

Jordan McGrath
(Owner of Analog visuals)
My vision is to create visual art that the viewer can connect with. I strive to make my work give a fresh perspective on any given scene, helping create interest and inspiration.

I've always been infatuated by anything creative. From a young age I spent most of my time creating artwork, drawing, learning music, even creating board games from scratch! When I was about 16 I was at my uncles house and we were playing guitar together, as he was an avid music and always had something to show/teach me. He was quite the spectacle of a man, wild in nature, and seemingly had no concern for what most people deemed as "fun". We were looking up some songs and I noticed that his desktop background was a photograph he took, it was his friend in his shorts, on top of a mountain, surrounded by snow. I sputtered out "how come your friend is wearing shorts in winter?! My uncle laughed "I took this in July" he said with a grin.
I honestly was blown away that there was still snow in July, and all of a sudden I was begging to see more photos and to learn about more of his adventure. Before I knew it we were in 3 hours deep, having scoured over thousands of photographs... all the mean while I was just in awe. There was a spark ignited in me, and its as if there was a part of me that had always known my deep desire for adventure started to open up. About a few months later in June I took a bus and met him down at the coast for my first backpacking trip.
We both wore our favourite band shirts without even planning it and I had even brought my little point and shoot camera. I decided to re-enact the photo the that I saw on his computer a few months prior, and once I took and saw it save to the SD card in my dinky little camera, it was then that I truly knew that I had found a passion beyond all measure; I then proceeded to fill up the SD card very very quickly.
Once I got my hands a real camera it was only a matter of time before I realized that you can do much more than take photos, you can capture motion, and tell stories!
I filmed my first wedding in 2019 as well as doing my first big corporate photo shoot, I then took the deep dive into film making in 2021. I found a passion for capturing stories and built the many skills required to edit and properly represent the these stories.
In the beginning of 2024 I had some ideas to potentially create a full blown production company, and by the end of the year I officially started working on creating the foundation for Analog. Early 2025 I chose the name and started building our website as well as planning out a bunch of projects and getting everything going!

It all started in a little town called Vernon...
